How to clear hyperpigmentation and make the skin pop, Is Glutathione a safer option?

Yo, ladies, I’m tryna deal with hyperpigmentation, and in my searches I came across these pills with Glutathione. They’re supposed to make your skin glow, detox, and all that good stuff. I’ve seen some folks online saying they’re legit, while others say they lighten the skin. I am not looking to whiten my skin, so here I am. Has anyone tried these pills? What’s the deal? Anyone got any other tricks to clear hyperpigmentation and make the skin pop?

Wo! Glutathione can be a pretty strong skin lightener and might mess up your skin barrier if not used the right way. Most dermatologists won’t recommend it unless your case is really serious. Retinol, hydroquinone, or tranexamic acid could be better options. But honestly, it’s a good idea to dig into more research or talk to a dermatologist to figure out what’s causing your hyperpigmentation, so you can treat it the right way.

Oh cool, I’ll definitely look into those! And yeah, I’ll need to do more research. Since it’s not really regulated, I’m starting to have second thoughts about taking it.

Yeah, you really need to do your research. Personally, I’m not sure how safe it could be, though I’ve heard it’s mainly used for skin lightening or mild bleaching and I don’t think it would really help with hyperpigmentation spots though. Consider talking to your dermatologist before opting for such unregulated supplements.

I don’t think there’s much solid research on glutathione yet. Most of what you hear is based on personal experiences, and it seems to be more popular for skin lightening. There’s also an oral version of tranexamic acid that’s supposed to work even better than the topical one. However for me, 20% azelaic acid gave the best results. It also helped with my acne, which is something hydroquinone didn’t really do for me.

I don’t know much about glutathione, but I tend to stay away from everything rumoured to lighten the skin. I personally recommend vitamin C serum and everyday sunscreen! Sunscreen will prevent future hyperpigmentation and if you maintain a routine, you’ll sure see great results.

From personal experience, my dermatologist prescribed glutathione for acne spots and trust me when i tell you the glow was worth it! I stopped using them though, after my skin cleared.

I tried glutathione for a few months last year, and it did brighten my skin and improve the dark spots on my face. I also got a lot of compliments on how “glowy” my skin looked. Despite getting a bit lighter, my skin seemed more like my usual lighter winter shade. I’ve started using it again to see if I’ll get the same results.
