How can I keep my lips moisturized and soft?

I’ve been struggling with dry, chapped lips and I’m looking for effective ways to keep them moisturized and soft. I already use lip balm regularly, but it doesn’t seem to be enough. Any tips or product recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve always struggled with dry lips, but moving to the desert made it even worse, causing painful splitting. Here are the things that helped me:

  • Drinking a lot more water
  • Finding a lip balm that works for me (DHC and Burt’s Bees, not ChapStick brand)
  • Using Vaseline at night to lock in moisture
  • Using a humidifier if you live in a dry climate

Wearing a mask for hours at work used to leave my lips dry and painfully cracked, but Vaseline has been a lifesaver!

I’ve always struggled with dry lips too, and “well-meaning” people would often comment on it when I was growing up. Even living in a coastal town, I still get cracked and bleeding lips.

I’ve found some mild success with Blistex in the blue pot and Aquaphor. While not much seems to truly heal my lips, these are working for me for now.

I swear by the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask! It’s a staple in my nightly routine. It’s non-greasy, smells great, and feels super comfortable on your lips. By the next morning, I don’t even need to use lip balm. Laneige also has an amazing daytime lip balm, but if I had to choose just one, it would be the sleeping mask. You can get it from Sephora for $20, and it lasts me a whole year.

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is literally all you need. HOLY GRAIL status! Lol. Also, why isn’t this the top comment?

I saw a few posts about how long it lasts and had to chime in. I don’t wear lipstick and like my lips to feel moist all the time, so mine probably only lasted 2 months, lol. I also like Awake’s lip mask and recently bought I Dew Care Plush Party’s Buttery Vitamin C lip mask. It’s not as goopy as the other two (which I didn’t mind). All of these are way better than any other lip balm I’ve tried!

Used to swear by it as well, but recently I’ve been using just plain lanolin from the baby/breastfeeding section and it works just as well, if not better, for a fraction of the price. My lips has never felt more moisturised and they stay soft for days even if I don’t use anything at night, the mask I had to use every single night or I’d be so chapped in the morning. The mask is obviously more of an experience with the smell and packaging and so on, but money is tight, I can only get it online and it just feels like a hassle to get it and pay for it so I put it off for ages, and then I tried lanolin on a whim (bought it for something Else) and I honestly don’t know if I’ll even purchase the mask again. Cannot recommend lanolin enough.
