Eyeshadow over 40…what’s the approach?

What should I be doing with eyeshadow? While I know rules can be broken, what are women in their 40s typically doing for a daily eye look? Are we still wearing eyeshadow?

I’m not an expert, just looking for tips on an achievable, low-maintenance routine.

I’m in my 30s. I usually apply a neutral brown shadow into the crease of my lids and blend it back and forth with a brush. It adds some depth without looking like “makeup.”

Sometimes, I use my blush on the lids for a rosy look.

Honestly, this isn’t age-related for me; it’s just what I’ve always preferred for every day.

I’m 57 and I use the ColorPop Stone Cold Fox palette, mainly sticking to the matte neutrals. I love shimmers, but they tend to highlight the changes in my skin texture on my upper lids.

I also use a Bobbi Brown shadow stick in Stone as a base, then layer darker matte shadows in the crease and highlight with ColorPop’s “Tripp.” It’s one of my favorite light matte shades ever. I wish they offered it as a standalone color because I haven’t found a dupe for it in any other line.

I’m 71 and I still wear eyeshadow. I don’t care what anyone says—I do what I want.

Me too! And I even wear glitter shadow!

I found my people! Dramatic eyes are where it’s AT!

Legitimately my attitude to life. love it
