What are some of your beauty-related horror stories?

I’m curious to hear about your experiences, whether they involve beauty products, services, procedures (like fillers or plastic surgery), or if you’re a service provider, your experiences from that perspective. Feel free to share!

I got lip fillers and asked for a natural look, but they made me look like a blow-up doll :sob:. Thankfully, it’s dissolved now and I’m back to normal, but I was miserably embarrassed for a month.

Also, Clear and Brilliant caused melasma on my cheeks.

I tried it once because I thought it was a good idea, even though I had made fun of a friend’s girlfriend who looked like a fish after getting fillers. I ended up looking the same. Definitely a mistake!

Clear and Brilliant did that to me too! I’m still battling the melasma.

Respectfully, I don’t think that’s enough time to see the final result. You were probably still experiencing some swelling. For me, the swelling continued to go down even three weeks after the procedure.

I used to cut and dye my own hair, which was a horror story in itself.

When I used to get mani-pedis, it seemed like every sixth time or so, I’d end up with an infection.

And once, a waxer accidentally took off half of my left eyebrow.

As a teenager, I used to bleach my own hair without using a cap or foils—just covering everything with bleach. The worst part was when I touched up my roots and overlapped so much that I ended up losing chunks of hair.

I’ve never had a unique experience.

That sounds like a bleach bath. My hairdresser did that when I was blonde—I was as white blonde as you could get!

I cut my own hair once during my first year of high school and ended up having to stay home for a week.
