How long does it usually take you to complete your everyday makeup routine?

I usually apply eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss, but it takes me around 20-30 minutes. I think that’s a bit long for just three products. How long does it take you when you include foundation, concealer, and other steps?

Friend, what are you doing for 20-30 minutes? I can do eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss in just 2 minutes!

Maybe they struggle with eyeliner. Also, if you curl your lashes and brush them out with a lash comb before applying mascara, it could definitely lengthen the process.

It’s longer than most people would take. If they explain why it takes so long, maybe we can suggest ways to cut down the time?

As you said, lip gloss takes seconds, however I have hooded eyes with two creases on either eye and I do wings, so I need to be more careful. And I have long eyelashes but if I don’t move the mascara brush slowly, the lashes won’t look any more enhanced or longer than they are in reality.

1-2 hours? :kissing: How do you manage to be so quick? It takes me 5-10 minutes just to apply mascara properly. :sob:

I can relate! It usually takes me around 2 hours to get ready. I spend about 15-20 minutes in the shower, 30 minutes blow-drying and styling my hair, and another 10 minutes for any final touches. For makeup, I take around 20 minutes, but with my brows, which are quite thin now, it adds an extra 10 minutes. Plus, I spend 15-20 minutes getting dressed, applying lotion, and changing my mind about outfits. I also spend an additional 15 minutes checking my phone or grabbing coffee. So while the actual makeup part doesn’t take long, my brows definitely slow me down!

I apply mascara while sitting at a red light on my way to work. What takes 5-10 minutes?

I have to curl them first, and idk I’m just really meticulous about coating the lashes properly so they stay up and look good. I also have to use waterproof and those formulas tend to be dryer.

Here’s a tip from Cosmo that I’ve been using since the '90s: Apply mascara and let it dry for a minute. Then, heat your eyelash curler with a hair dryer or use the hot air from a heat vent. Hold each lash for about 20 seconds. This method makes your lashes last all day and takes under 2 minutes. I’ve always used waterproof mascara for this.

It’s the meticulously applying the mascara itself that takes the longest for me, it’s not something I can just throw on
