I’m overwhelmed with options, I have so many lipstick pieces, especially nude colors and red. I now want to discard some and only leave a few pieces, like just one red, but I’m stuck, I don’t know which criteria to use in doing so. For those who’ve done a major lipstick purge, how did you decide which ones made the cut?
Here’s what I do: I get rid of anything that’s broken, expired, or looks off. Then, I swatch the rest and take pictures. I then ask myself the question, does this work for everyday? Is it long-lasting for special events? Does it suit my skin tone? That helps me pick what to keep and what to discard.
Oh wow! I’m so happy somebody else does it like I do. Here’s basically what my process entails: I toss anything gross, swatch everything, and get rid of all warm shades since they don’t suit me. I try on each one, and if it’s hard to apply or matte, it’s out. I also ensure to keep only the best when I have duplicates. I managed to cut my collection by 75% this way. It took time, but it was worth it!
I pretty much get rid of any products I hate wearing, of course except for Ruby Woo. I don’t love wearing it, but it’s hands-down the most flattering shade I’ve ever found.
Hahaha why’s this so relatable?!
I know right? I also basically toss anything I can’t stand to wear except Ruby Woo. I may dread putting it on, but it’s the lipstick equivalent of a frenemy: a little annoying but looks amazing!
