At-Home Laser Hair Removal… Does It Actually Work?

Anyone tried at-home laser hair removal? I’ve read both good and bad reviews. I’m mostly nervous about it burning my skin, but I’ve heard people say the clinic laser can burn too. I mainly want to reduce hair growth and deal with my strawberry skin. If anyone has experience with at-home lasers, please share!

It definitely works if you’re consistent and follow the instructions. I love mine so far.

Has it ever burned you?

I’m using the Philips Lumea, and it’s been really effective! It’s a bit expensive, but I researched a lot, and this one had the most reliable reviews. I’ve only done 2 sessions (underarms, legs, bikini), and the hair’s already growing back slower.

Sounds great! Thanks for the info.

Works well for me, but it mainly only works with dark hair on light skin. I get good results, but if I stop using it, my hair eventually starts coming back.

How long before it starts coming back?

About 2 months after I stop, I notice the hair growth picking up again. I get a bit lazy sometimes, but when I do it weekly, I see great results. After a few months, I could probably switch to every other week. I use a Braun model from Amazon.

Maybe keeping up with it regularly would make a difference?

I had really good results, starting once a week, then switching to every two weeks after a couple of months, and now just doing it once a month or so. But if you stop altogether, the hair comes back eventually. It’s best with dark hair on light skin since it reacts to the pigment. I avoid fake tan when I use mine. If it gets too hot, I just turn it off for a bit and let it cool down. Hope that helps!

Thanks, that helps a lot! I have light skin and dark, coarse hair, so hopefully, I’ll get similar results. Do you need to do touch-ups every year?

By the way, what brand are you using?
